Lovely children’s area with loads of books and child-size seats. Very relaxed atmosphere, they don’t seem to mind toddlers running around and perusing the bookshelves themselves. You can take out 15 books for 3 weeks at a time. Apply for library card online. Storytime every Wednesday at 11:00am

Bunny Park

HANWELL

Officially called Churchfield’s recreation ground but locally known as the bunny park, this large green space has 2 playgrounds, a cafe, zoo, loos (not always open), tennis courts and nice paths to stroll around. Connected to Brent Meadow if you walk under the viaduct and also the small sensory park on Church Road via the woodland path.

A Sandy park! Official name 'King George Playground'. Great for toddlers that like climbing and clambering but also swings for smaller ones and some green space to kick a ball around etc

More formal park accessed from Boston Road, with a bandstand in the centre, good paths and a playground. Big green space out the back with stoney paths running all the way out to the canal.

Botanical Gardens, lots of different areas to explore - childrens garden is specially designed for kids and fun for first walkers and up. Lots of places to eat, each offering different styles of dining, although on a nice day a picnic is ideal. You're never too far from a toilet. Expensive for a one off trip, but the membership is good value if you go every few months or more.

Syon Park

Syon House and Gardens are currently closed for the winter but will REOPEN on 15th March 2023 The fancy gardens are based around a pond with great natural playgrounds for climbing. Quite expensive but you get a local discount - just tell them your postcode. Toilets near entrance to gardens. Cafe and restaurant in Hillier garden centre nearby (also a Lakeland!) Free parking.

Airy indoor soft play, under 5s area, mini-town section and large soft play climbing frame for bigger kids. Cafe with okay food and drinks. Free parking in Syon Park car park, with short walk to the soft play (head left when looking at the garden centre, then turn right through a gate - see signs)

Lovely formal gardens for a nice walk, surrounding Chiswick House. Nice wooded areas, lake good for spotting birds. Good paths for buggy. Nice cafe near the house, good ice creams in the summer.

Part of Horsenden Hill, near Perivale. Great shortish loop for little ones to walk, with Gruffalo characters to be found on the way round - perfect encouragement to get them round. Often the Horsenden Loaf stall is open with excellent coffee and incredible doughnuts.

Pitshanger Park

PITSHANGER

Leafy park with the river running alongside. Lots of good things in the playground for wide variety of ages. Cafe in the park near the tennis courts and Pitshanger Lane is just up the road, with lots of nice cafes.

National Trust park, house and garden - the park is free to access, you need to buy tickets or be a NT member to get in to the house and garden. Good for longer walks, spotting cows and horses then heading to the cafe for coffee or lunch. Parking is expensive if you're not a NT member.

Indoor Trampoline Park in Acton. Toddler sessions in the mornings with some activities led by the staff as well as free play on trampolines and in soft play. Feels like a bit like a night club...

Large family friendly leisure centre with a couple of pools and a soft play (plus gym etc). Leisure pool has a sloped entry so really fun with littlies, there's a very shallow area for babies, although the water temperature is not at bath temp like some baby pools. Cafe is small but handy. Soft play is in a converted squash court!

Popular dog walking park with a good playground in the middle and another near Tippitoes Playcentre. Northfields gate very handy for coffee (we recommend Element) or a spot of shopping. Exit at the opposite end of the park to get into Walpole - it's fancier sibling park.

A great park for pushing the buggy around thanks to it's many, many paths. Small ponds, nice cafe (no indoor seats), sandy playground and the Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery make it a park you can spend an hour or a day in.

Somewhat hidden between Boston Manor Rd and Northfields Ave - but worth a visit for the playground or to do an activity at the Community Pavilion.
